I read a really interesting article the other day about disaster recovery plans. My friend, Dave, is studying to be a city planner, and he had some industry magazine on his coffee table when I was over at his place the other night. He had a couple a friends and me over for a barbeque and to play cards. I got there a little early, and while he was lighting the grill, I read the magazine. The article talked about what cities have to undertake when they have been ravaged by disaster. It discussed all of the different aspects in terms of politics, economics and how to go about rebuilding a city from the ground up. I was really into the article when Dave walked in and laughed at me for reading the magazine. He said it was there because he gets it for free, but that he never even actually reads it. We ended up having a really great night of good food, good cards and good company. Dave grilled us all steak and put blue cheese crumbles on top of them. He also made homemade potato chips. It was really quite the meal, and we all ate way too much.
