TV COMMERCIAL
Have you ever been watching TV and then you see a commercial that’s advertising a state? Seriously! A state! One of the more recent ones is advertising the state of California. When I was younger, I used to see commercials for North Dakota. What’s next? A Chicago email marketing campaign for Illinois? I’m already hearing radio commercials for the Roman Catholic Church. Yes, that’s right. The higher ups in Catholicism have decided that a little advertising will keep all those young Catholics from drifting away from the faith. Because no one can find the local Catholic Church near them. They just can’t see that big building with the “t” on top. But now they’ll hear about it on the radio and will go dashing off. In fact, they’ll see a commercial for North Dakota on TV and then hear a radio ad for Catholicism and then they’ll run off to find a Catholic Church in North Dakota. That’s the power of advertising for you in action. The Roman Catholic Church is actually the biggest landowner in the whole wide world so you know they’ve got the cash to spare. And North Dakota probably overtaxes its residents to make up those commercials. But the money’s coming back. People are talking now. You got to spend money to make money after all.
